I shoot on film. I have for almost 5 years. Before then, I was a commercial real estate photographer and, before that, a wedding photographer. Both of these required a digital workflow, and both burnt me out.
I shoot on film because it slows me down, it forces me to consider the shot. Film, by its nature, forces me to ask, “Is this photo worth it?” That decision has real-world consequences; it costs time, energy, and money to make that photo real.
This weekend, I picked up a digital camera and practiced art for the first time in 5 years.
I’m happy with the results.
